This week’s ad comes from Head and Shoulders, who have created a prank viral with the help of NFL star Troy Polamalu.

For those who don’t know who Troy Polamalu is – he’s a famous American football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers over in the USA. Off the field, he stars in numerous commercials for Head and Shoulders.

In this ad, Polamalu posed as a wax figure at world-famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Hollywood to comical effect…



This is another example of a viral with little or no product placement, whilst still generating mass PR for the brand.

Whilst in the UK few of us will have any knowledge who Troy Polamalu is, in the US he’s a well-known sportsman and famed for his huge hair. Last year Head and Shoulders famously insured his legendary locks for a record $1 million.

Since it was uploaded to the Head and Shoulders channel on Youtube 3 weeks ago, the ad has been viewed 1,442,146 times.
